Smoke Test Kits

Smoke test kits utilise a manual squeeze bulb to blow generated smoke that can be used to visualise the direction of slight air currents in rooms or installations, or for estimating the distribution of harmful gasses and vapours in the workplace.

The Smoke Cartridge Kit is easy to deploy for both quick checks and long investigations, and generates a white smoke that is non-corrosive and non-irritating. The replaceable smoke-generating cartridges can each be used up to 500 times*.

Applications include:

  • Tracing of harmful gases or particles to check for diffusion and stagnation
  • Identifying installation points or performance testing of ventilation systems
  • Performance testing of air conditioners
  • Selection of gas sampling points for working environment monitoring
  • Indoor and outdoor air flow testing

*When one smoke emission is within one second under environmental conditions of 20°C and 50% RH.

  • Smoke Tube Kit

    Unlike the Smoke Cartridge Kit above, the traditional Smoke Tube Kit uses individual smoke-generating tubes. Each kit comes complete with a pack of smoke tubes. Break off both ends of the smoke tube and attach the rubber aspirator bulb to one end. When the bulb is squeezed, the reagent in the tube reacts with moisture in the air generating white smoke. A single tube can be used repeatedly for approximately 50 tests. The tubes can be sealed with the rubber caps provided between each test.
