This information is based on U.S. EPA's recommendation in Method 0040, Section 1.5.1. Compounds at a boiling point of 249.8°F (121°C) or higher tend to have lower vapor pressure; therefore, they do not come off the bag's inner surface completely. They tend to coat the inside of the bag. To avoid this, use bag sampling for only those compounds with a boiling point of less than 249.8°F (121°C). For more information, see
